The High Plains Comedy Festival has come and gone and I can say with absolutely no hyperbole that it was the best thing that has ever happened in the history of humanity. Fire was pretty cool, the wheel was cool in that it let us take fire to more distant locations, but both those accomplishments pale in comparison to Denver’s inaugural comedy festival. The people, they flocked. The comics, they destroyed. The parties, they didn’t stop. And the spirit in the air was nothing short of inspiring. The Denver comedy scene – fans and comics alike – came out and supported this thing in numbers far greater than I ever imagined. It was truly something amazing and special and I could not be more humbled by it. We’ve got ourselves a comedy festival, Denver! This shit is going to rule for a long-time to come. Many thanks to my partner-in-fest Andy Juett and to Virgil Dickerson and Pete Turner of Greater Than and Illegal Pete’s, without whom we would have never have been able to get this festival off the ground.

All of those fine fellows will be on the podcast in due time.

But not today.

For today I am happy to drop my first live podcast ever, recorded at Denver’s legendary Hi-Dive during High Plains! This thing was a blast from start to finish and everyone was an absolute delight. Even Marc Maron. Yes that Marc Maron. The man behind WTF was in town during the High Plains Comedy Festival, playing at the Comedy Works, and he was nice enough to stop in and make an appearance on my podcast. So for those playing the home game, that brings the list of guests on this episode to Ben Roy, David Gborie, Kyle Kinane, Kurt Braunohler and Marc Maron. Plus Matt Braunger stopped in for a second for good measure. It was a humdinger, a home-run of an episode, and it’s been hard holding on to if for these past two weeks, so eager was I to share it with you all. And now I no longer have to. So here’s the episode guys. Finally. Huzzah!

Special thanks to Taylor Gonda and Randy Washington for their production skills and live intr0-music-playing, respectively, and to Oliver Howard for his immaculate, dope-ass live recording skills. Bravo, good sir. Follow all of those people on Twitter. That’s why I gave the links. Finally, thanks to all of you for listening to this episode. Share, subscribe, enjoy!
